Think about the audience for the research plan. Who will benefit from and read the research plan? Will it be product managers? Software engineers and designers? Other researchers? They all might have different goals and expectations for the research so you have to balance out what's explicitly written down and aligned.
Keep in mind that you are also a benefactor of this research plan. Review it when you're prepping for research, during data collection and when you want to analyze and report findings.
